The Landmark

The Landmark was originally the headquarters of the Home Telephone Company and was built in 1908. The property was designed by the firm Coxhead and Coxhead and declared a San Francisco landmark in 1981.

Huntsman Architectural Group converted The Landmark into thirty-nine condominiums and lofts. They were careful to remain faithful to the historic fabric of the building while addressing its modern day use. They maintained as much of the steel frame structure as possible, exposing and preserving original brick, steel, concrete and sandstone cladding. The conversion was completed in 2004.

Outside the original stone lobby there is neo-renaissance façade, 40-foot-high columns and a two-story arched central doorway with a bold broken scroll pediment.

Each residence in the building is unique, no two are sized or designed exactly the same. These studio, one and two bedroom units range from 470 to 1,200 SqFt. They were designed to highlight urban elements and provide a city retreat. The homes include original sandblasted brick walls, 13 to 22 foot ceilings, Kashmir granite counters, mahogany cabinetry, solid hardwood flooring and top of the line appliances.
